It’s no secret that Gothenburg has produced some of the very best indiebands there is; and AGENT BLÅ is definitely one of them! Dreamy soundscapes that doesn’t shy away from the subtle aggressions of postpunk and shoegaze – just the way we like it!

On Saturday, December 7th they stab their way into your hearts as they take the stage at Monument. Joining us this winter night is Malmös very own Söder om Söder, making sure everyone understands that great indie is not something exclusive to Gothenburg.

The indie phenomenon Linn Koch-Emmery is coming to Monument on November 15th!

Born in Hamburg, Germany and raised in Norrköping, Linn Koch-Emmery brings a musical touch that is genuine, raw and beautiful. She does not come from a musical family, but music came to her and became her security and lifeline throughout her childhood and adolescence.

“I was an anxious kid. Listening to music was an escape, and through it I suddenly understood a lot of things.”
If you listen to Linn Koch-Emmery’s music, that’s exactly what you feel. How she put everything on the table and takes us on an emotional journey where we get to feel all the emotions and then some. An inner contradiction of both confidence and vulnerability is heard through raw indie rock creations, an external reflection of her inner world and a place of complete safety and surrender.

Now in 2024, after the huge success of the cinematic single “Falling Down” (2022) and the Grammy-nominated debut album “Being the girl” (2021), indie sensation Linn Koch-Emmery is ready for an exciting start to 2024 with the release of her latest album “Borderline Iconic”.

Fredag den 12e juli blir det dubbel releasefest när Ilawgne firar andra albumet ”Microdosing Heavy Poetry” – medan Ior äntligen släppt den magiska självbetitlade debuten.

En perfekt kväll för perfekt pop, så som den lät när du faktiskt lyssnade på genren på riktigt, alltså när den innehöll lika delar angst som melodi. Dist och rytm. Ni vet vad vi menar. Riktigt bra musik helt enkelt.

llawgne:
llawgne, eller Mathias Engwall som han egentligen heter, har rört sig i kulisserna i svenskt musikliv sedan tidigt 2000-tal. Han har spelat trummor i en tidig version av Vit Päls. Spelat bas med Autisterna. Remixat Loney Dear. Varit masteringstekniker åt skivbolaget Höga Nord. Han har gjort reklammusik och blivit kallad geni av Eek-a-mouse.

Med llawgne vänder han på sitt efternamn och träder fram som artist, steg för steg. 2021 släppte han sitt debutalbum Nevereveries, en skiva där siluetten av llawgne kan skönjas bakom väggar av syntar och shoegazegitarrer. På omslaget syns en indie-demon, inte än redo att visa sina rätta ögon.
2024 har Mathias trätt fram ytterligare i ljuset med släpp av nya singlar inför album nummer två som släpptes i maj i år. Spelningen på Monument blir releasespelning i Göteborg för skivan, döpt till Microdosing Heavy Poetry. På scen står han med fullt band – knivskarpa fuzzmattor med tydliga melodier utlovas. Tycker du om band som Ride, Cocteau Twins och My Bloody Valentine? Då kommer du älska llawgne!

 

ior:
Som en fågel fenix reste sig David Fridlund ur ruinerna av sitt havererade liv i USA där han hamnade för 10 år sedan, då hans band David & the Citizens splittrats med buller och bång. Men en återförenings-spelning för Citizens på Malmöfestivalen vände på hans liv och med ny luft under flygplansvingarna återkom han till Sverige för att idag bo i Göteborg.
I ett kreativt rus skapat av den emotionella och fysiska resan tillbaka till Sverige skrev han en mängd låtar, nu på svenska. Då han skickade dem till ett gäng musikerkompisar drabbades de alla av den kraft som en poplåt kan ge och bandet ior var skapat.

Bandet ior är från Göteborg och spelar emotionell powerpop och består förutom David Fridlund från David & the Citizens av Daniel Fridlund, David Bergström och Mathias Engwall som återfinns i band som Kid Down, Joel Alme, European Sons, llawgne, New Moscow mfl.

31 maj 2024 släppte bandet ior sitt debutalbum, på Adrian Recordings. Samma bolag som också gav ut David & the Citizens en gång i tiden. Ett självbetitlat album, där alla låtar är direkt kanaliserade från Davids liv i USA och framförallt flykten från Santa Fe till Göteborg.

And with her E.M.O Beach Club-concept, she’s been bringing the beach to a variety of different clubs and venues around town, and it just so happens that this time, she’s coming to the finest beach of them all a.k.a RINGÖN!
Yes, the industrial decadence just got filthier in the best of ways. Swing by this Thursday and celebrate Pride, listen to some house, gay pop, probably some Charli xcx and have a ton of cocktails because you’ve earned it.

Erik Palmqwist + support 26/10

Eric Palmqwist släpper nya skivan “Människornas Planet” 10e oktober och detta firas givetvis med releasefest. Lördag 26e oktober står han på scen på Monument och biljetterna är släppta NU!

Eric Palmqwist fick sitt nationella genombrott 2019 med albumet “En Halv Gris Kan Inte Gå”. En temaskiva om vägen ur ett missbruk. Den produktive artisten och konstnären från Gotland har efter det hunnit med att släppa ytterligare två temaalbum. ”Hej Då” (2020) om en separation och ”Värmen” (2021) om psykisk ohälsa.

Han har jämförts med artister som John Holm, Magnus Lindberg och Olle Ljungström och har på klassiskt indiemanér byggt upp en egen hängiven fanbase. Under åren har Eric spelat på en rad scener runt om i landet (ett fullsatt Fasching i Stockholm till exempel). Vart hans musik än leder är vägen kantad av en växande skara EP-heads och strålande recensioner.

På nya kommande skivan ”Människornas Planet” (release 10 okt) har Eric sökt sig till en hårdare och råare ljudbild. Med distade gitarrer och skev indierock blir låtarna på skivan som välriktade och välbehövliga käftsmällar mot vår samtid och är som gjorda för livescenen.

Två singlar är nyligen släppta, “Tvålen” med Kajsa Grytt 25/4 och “Allt kommer att bli bra (La la la) 6/6. Att just den sistnämnda släpptes på självaste nationaldagen är långt ifrån en slump.

On SUNDAY the 23rd of June you best wake up from that stupid Midsummer-hangover cause this is Les Lullies at Monument!!!

The band was formed back in 2016 by four French cheese-eating attack monkeys. Mont-pellier’s own sweethearts are in line with a bunch of bands and artists with a simple creed: hop in the van, go everywhere and play rock’n’roll!

We could list everything they’ve released – the legends they’ve shared stages with but you already know that. If not, go find out. This ain’t rocket science, mon frère, it is only rock’n’roll. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

And please welcome Nyköpings finest a.k.a THE MANIKINS as opening act!
The Manikins were formed in 1999.
With their own recipe, they have created a perfectly mixed cocktail of garage punk, power pop and good old rock n roll.
Since the beginning, the band has managed to release 6 records and toured extensively in both Europe and the USA. The latest album “Swedish Woods” was released in November on Lövely Records and has been praised by, among others, The Hives.
June 23rd The Manikins are back in Gothenburg and will offer Monument an explosive performance together with Les Lullies!
